| Dr. Bob Fleming works as a research psychologist for the U.S. Navy. Self-described as a "complete klutz" in high school shop, it wasn't until almost 40 years later that he returned to woodworking. In 1992, a visit to the woodworkers pavilion at the Del Mar Fair got him interested in woodcarving, which he did for several years. Then came the fatal day when he bought his first lath. Since then he has become an avid woodturner, spending most of his spare time on the hobby. He especially likes working with cocobolo and other exotic woods, turning segmented bowls and lidded vessels. |
