Chuck Luebbers

Chuck retired in 1992 after 37 years in the Industrial and Aerospace fields. After graduation from highschool in Illinois he played professional baseball, untill the Navy called. After 4 years in the Navy he went to work at Solar Aircraft, San Diego as an apprentice patternmaker. He re-entered school and studied Mechanical Engineering, and this is the field from whch he retired.

His love of wood began at the early age of 6. This is mainly because his father, Paul, was an avid woodworker. First it was carving and assembling solid model airplanes. Then on to boats, bird houses and the making of many items in the Boy Scouts' magazine. During his working career he continued to keep his hobby of building furniture, studing woodcarving, and woodturning from the patternmaking days.

Chuck feels that he has been blessed to be able to work with wood throughout his whole life and can think of nothing better than wood to bring warmth to a house or to be crafted and given as a gift to that special friend.
