Ken Roth

After graduating from Marquette School of Medicine (now the Medical College of Wisconsin) in 1963, Ken interned in Phoenix, Arizona. After serving three years in the US Navy, he did a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery with a sub-specialty in spinal deformities. Ken practiced in Redlands, California, where he also served a term on the Redlands City Council and as Mayor. During his stay in Redlands, he also served as Chief of Spinal Deformities at Loma Linda School of Medicine. Leaving Redlands in 1985, Dr. Roth practiced in Escondido, in the field of spinal deformities and adult spine disorders. Part-time retirement arrived in February 1995, allowing him to start developing his creative skills. Woodturning, an occasional activity for several years, became Ken's focused activity. He is a member of the American Association of Woodturners and the San Diego Woodturners. In January 1996, he became a juried member of the San Diego County Carvers Guild in Spanish Village Art Center, Balboa Park. Ken strives to produce uncomplicated designs to enhance the natural beauty of wood.
