Phil Stivers creates his art in northern San Diego county, California. He has worked with wood for over 20 years and is a graduate of the woodworking program at Palomar College in San Marcos, CA. Phil’s degrees in woodworking include both cabinet and furniture making.

His career with wood began with a custom woodworking and cabinetmaking business in 1994. After a brief pause in shop time in 2008, Phil began turning “in earnest” following a new passion in wood. His work has progressed to amazing and continues to wow viewers and patrons alike.

Phil has studied with many accomplished and well known turners among them are Nan Bushley, Allen Driver, Marguerite Montalbano, Dixie Biggs, Jimmy Clewes, and Mike Jackofsky. Each has had a profound influence on his work and development as a turner.
