Bill was born and raised in east central PA. He joined the Navy in 1957 where he spent 12 yrs. as a machinist and left Navy in 1969. Bill worked as a carpenter/foreman untill retiring in 2002. His hobbies have included fishing, field archery, bowhunting, amateur gunsmithing and pool cue making. He was inspired to try bird carving by a piece of olive wood that he had, and was encouraged by his brother who is a world champion bird carver. Bill's main interest is stylized carving with natural finishes. He loves the look of wood of all kinds.

His awards include: 2004 Pacific Southwest Wildlife Art show, 3rd place and 3 honorable mentions; 2005 Pacific Southwest Wildlife Art show, 2nd place and 2 honorable mentions; 2005 Art in Wood show San Diego County Fair, Blue Ribbon.
